Maybe it’s just me, but whenever I see “_________ is a social construct”, I just want to scream. It has turned into some catchphrase for people to throw around. Ok, fine. Things are socially constructed, but that doesn’t really say much and to people who don’t understand what social construction means, it sounds like whatever you’re talking about is being written off as unimportant.

I picture Inigo Montoya in about 90% of ‘social construct’ internet mentions.

You keep using that term (word). I do not think it means what you think it means.

As a fellow sociology major, it makes my skin crawl.
